Marianne, I never thought you would leave the Brevard School system before I did. How did this happen? I've even graduated from Melbourne High School twice and I'm still here. Thankfully you are not leaving FPSP or the area. I would have to resign if you left us completely. As it is, I feel obligated to stay and help the other District Reps try and fill your shoes. It will take all of us to do the job you did. Besides, I would miss your company and confusion come District and State time. I need something to keep my mind working. Congratulations on your promotion, Good Luck in your new job, and I hope your future is brighter and less stressful. You deserve the best because you give so much. Melinda Casto |
Marianne, I came to Florida ten years ago. I'd coached FPS in Indiana for five years, but upon arrival at my first FPS state bowl in Florida I was welcomed by Marianne right away. She made me feel like I was an important part of the process, and I cannot adequately express how happy I was about that. I felt like I had come home, to the right state, the right place, the right people for me. What an ambassador she is for FPS. Cathy Cochrane |

![]() WHAT?? ME ride this thing! Nah, let Nancy ride it. |
| Dear Marianne. For all of us in Florida, you are the working model of the FPSP. We have all learned to brainstorm as a team, identify the underlying problems, investigate multiple solutions, and best of all, come to an agreement on a workable plan. You encourage us to step outside of our comfort zone. You appreciate our efforts and value all of us for our special talents. You are dynamic, fun, stimulating, fun, creative, fun, and a true love. You have enriched my life and I’m proud to be your friend. Look out I.O.!!! You ain’t seen nothing yet!!! Love Di |
Marianne, Some people lead, others follow. Marianne is one of the best leaders I've ever had the pleasure to follow. Marianne is fair minded and not mean spirited. Everything she's ever done has been done in the best interest of the KIDS involved in Florida FPS. I'm sorry to see her "leave" as Florida's AD but Florida's loss is IC's GAIN and IC will be all the better for it! YOU GO GIRL ! Fred Harris |

![]() GET TO WORK!!!!
|
| Marianne came to my classroom
and taught FPS to my students when I was first getting started.
Her presentation was so clear that even I got it. I have been involved in FPS with my students ever since. Elaine Heine |
Marianne: Thank you for the values you bring to all the work you do, and all our interactions over the years— - Commitment to quality and hard
work
- Integrity and honesty in your dealings with others - Respect and appreciation for the creativity of today's problem solvers and tomorrows - Imagination to see goals that might yet become results - Perseverance in working for what's right and needed and the ability to keep smiling when you're about ready to scream on the inside! Best wishes to you in your new role Don Treffinger |

![]() Guess I'm not in Arkansas anymore, eh Toto? |
| Marianne, ...Courage, compassion, loyality, fairness, friendship, always putting our students and their needs first ...so many gifts you give to all; no wonder you are so loved and respected! It is an honor and privilege to be in your circle. Love, Diane Tomko |
Marianne,
For putting kids first, for
dedication to FLFPSP, for all of your late nights, we thank you.
For creating better evaluations, for making board meetings fun, for helping us do
our best, hats off to you.
For making State great for kids, for thinking outside the box, for always finding a way, we bow
to you.
But most of all for being a
friend, we love you!
